It's just how it is.

Thank you. #75

I am thankful for the chance to witness the kindness of others. While at the grocery store cash waiting my turn there were two gentle men ahead of me. The second in line was an elderly man. While waiting his turn he was checking over his items and looking at his money in a little container counting it and getting ready to pay. While distracted the first gentle man had the cashier ring the elderly mans order through and paid for it and left bidding them both a merry Christmas. The elderly gentle man a moment later turned to the cashier asking what his total was and she announced “nothing” the man stared at her confused and tried to explain to her that he hadn’t paid yet. She turned and glanced over her shoulder at the man who was now walking out of the store and said “It’s all taken care of, the other gentle man paid for it”. He stared at her for a moment confused and then looked down at the money in his hand as huge smile came across his face. He looked like a child being handed a candy bar. I am thankful to be blessed with the opportunity to witness a selfless act of kindness and to be reminded that just because we may not be there to see it does not me that our good deeds aren’t appreciated. Thank you to those that care for even strangers.
