It's just how it is.

Thank you. # 203

Six years ago today Nate was a very sick little baby and I was awaiting an appointment to see the pediatrician. The appointment was at 1 pm and by 2 pm he was admitted to the hospital and plans were being set in motion to have him sent to sick kids for testing to diagnosis what later turned out to be Hirschsprung’s disease . It is hard to believe that it has been 6 years. I am so glad to be able to say that Nate is doing fantastic and is a (mostly) healthy, happy 6 year old and the most loving child I have ever had the joy of knowing.

I am so thankful for how far Nate has come and for everything our journey has taught me.

I am thankful for moms.

Sounds simple, right?

But it’s more.

I am thankful for my mom. For all of the things she fought for. All of the things she gave up. All of the things she missed out on. All so that my brother and I wouldn’t miss out.

I am thankful for a mother in-law who treats me like she has known me my whole life. Who will hug me and tell me she loves me and then call me out when I am in the wrong. Who will go above and beyond because it is how she was made and that is how she believes it is meant to be.

I am thankful for the women in my life who aren’t moms but step into the roll in a child’s life because caring for others is ingrained in their heart.

I am thankful for the extra mom that I have gained as a part of my extended family.

I am thankful for the moms who are a great support in my life. I can’t imagine getting to this point in my life without them. They have been a greater blessing than they will ever know.

I am thankful for the moms who have guided that people in my life to be who they are today.

It is with a sad heart that I share that a friends mother in-law is expected to pass soon. She, her husband and other family and loved ones have gone to be with her in her final moments. I would like to ask that those reading this send out a prayer or good vibes to this Mom and to her family in this moment. I would also like to ask that as a tribute to this Mom that you share your love with your mom. A hug, a phone call, a prayer, good vibes. Whatever you are able just to say thank you for everything she has given to you. I know mothers day is soon approaching but you never know what life will bring so please don’t wait. Besides I am sure your mom would love to hear it twice.

To my mom, thank you. I love you.

To my mother in-law, I am truly blessed. I love you.

To both of my sister in-laws, I love you.

To my my chosen family mom. I love you.

To all of the other moms (and moms at heart) who bless my life, thank you.

I am thankful for he funny little smile that woke me up this morning to ask for “smushy kisses”. It is the perfect way to wake up. <3

P.S. Smushy kisses is what ALy calls it when she squishes my cheeks between her hands and I kiss her. It is almost guaranteed to ens in giggles and hugs.

I am thankful to be able to be involved with my kids school and to be able to spend time in the school and being an extra support for my children at school even when I am not there. I am thankful to be able to give them the peace in the crazy world of school.

Today I was helping out at the boys school at lunch time when a project of Cameron’s was accidentally dropped and wrecked. Then about 45 minutes later Nate had a disagreement with another student and was struggling to control his emotions. I was blessed to be there in those moments and to have teachers who know me and sought me out to help to guide and comfort the boys in their situations and to help. I know with the teaching style of some teachers they would not want to mix mom (or parents) with school but I was glad to be able to help and to work as a team to achieve what is best for the boys.

I am thankful for the chance to share the joy of Nordic Pole walking with others. Today at the poll walking group I attend we had to new ladies. Our instructor was absent so myself and another lady in the group took the lead and lead the group. It was such a perfect day for a walk and we had such a wonderful day. I am thankful for the chance to share with others.

I am thankful for time spent gathered with friends in faith. Today Aly and I went to bible study, because of lifes little interruptions (appointments, illness, bad weather and sometimes just being to tired) we haven’t attended for a while. It was so nice to go today and to spend time visiting, playing, praying and just being their for eachother. I am thankful for this wonderful group of ladies and the strength they help bring to my life.
