I am so thankful for a quiet day home. It was one of those days where I was able to get a lot of things accomplished (mostly laundry). It is such a nice feeling to spend a relaxed day and to get so much done.

Today I am thankful for a day home because some days you just need to be home and to enjoy that space. Aly is always wanting to be on the go and so we spend a lot of time out doing different activities but today her and I shared a morning home just the two of us. It was a wonderful time and I am very thankful for our morning doing nothing.

I am thankful for the easy moments. You know those times when things just happen a little easier. Like when you pull into a parking lot and there is a spot open with out having to drive around looking. Or when I get where I am going with the kids and everyone is ready to get out of the van without fighting or taking a really long time. I love those moments when just for a moment things happen not just how they should but just a slight bit better.

I am thankful for the gifts of love from my children. Today at after school club Cameron made some crafts for me. It makes me smile when they spontaneously think of me. I love them so much.

I am thankful for those moments when I am reminded that I am not alone in the struggles I face as a mom. There are days when I just feel so lost and alone and like I am completely stumped as to what it is I am doing and what I should be doing. Then I have these moments when I remember that I am not alone and that everything I am facing someone else has faced before. Some days can just be so over whelming that it is almost blinding and then every once in a while there is a light and a moment of clarity and I can see a little clearer. I am thankful for those moments that allow me to re-ground myself.

I am thankful for my loving son. I was working on home work with Nate and was complaining that I was cold when Cam suddenly appeared with a blanket and hug for me. I love that my little man for being so considerate (although I think he did it more for the planet then for me as he is very excited right now on turning down the heat and helping the planet).

I am thankful for a great weekend FULL of family fun. We started off with the boys school Halloween dance (where I was priviliged enough to help out) followed by trick-or-treating on Friday, then Chuck-E-Cheese on Saturday, and finally Sunday was lunch at Swiss Chalet with Aunts and Grama followed by dinner at Chez Nana and Papa’s. 🙂 What a great way to spend a weekend.

I am thankful for a much needed nap and for my children allowing me the time and peace to have a nap. Today I out a movie on for the kids and they allowed me 2 glorious hours to lie down and have a a much needed nap. Ussually even with the treat of the movie letting mommy have quiet would be impossible but today they did and I am very thankful for it and the energy it gave me to spend the rest of the day enjoying my family.

I am thankful to be able to be present for some special moments in my children’s lives. Today at the boys school they had a Halloween dance. I am on the school commitee that organized and ran it. Because of this I was able to spend a little time with them at the dance. Then this evening I went with them Trick or Treating. I love these moments and I am thankful to be there to share them with them.

I am thankful for amazing timing. So today I had a parents group to go to and I had costumes to work on. The combination of which meant I wouldn’t have enough time to do both. I decided to look up the topic of today’s group (it is different every week) and decide based on that whether or not I would go to the group. It just so happened that today’s activity was sharing our crafting talents. It was perfect. I was able to take my costume project with me and work on it while I visited with other women. It was so nice and I was so glad that I was able to be there and to have the break.
