The Dreaded Winter Wear.
I keep hoping it just won’t happen but this morning it was so cold that I had to face facts… It’s time to drag the snow pants and heavy mitts out of storage. I’ve had the winter coats and stretchy mitts out for awhile now but I’ve been putting off the snow pants. Sadly I think the time has come to get them out. I know what you might be thinking that I don’t like the cold weather and your right I don’t but that isn’t the part that really bothers me. What really bothers me is the daily fight that I know lies ahead. The struggle I will face getting 3 kids in to full snowsuits 5 days a week. It will likely take longer to get them on then the amount of time they will be in them for the walk to school. I use to like winter and snow but now being a mom of three young children it don’t just dislike it I dread and fear it. It is like some sort of horror film for moms.
Boo to snow suit!
I feel the pain of Thomas’ mom and all Canadian mom’s. We must hold strong, spring is only 3 1/2 months away.
A FANTASTIC day!
To most the day might not seem all that big but to me it was a great day. It started out like any other Tuesday for me. Rushing the kids out the door to get the boys to school on time. Then I had to add in an extra stop at the grocery store to pick up something to share at my Tuesday bible studies potluck lunch. Now I am super cheap (or frugal) so I always head passed the discount clearance area. Well today I hit the jackpot in toilet paper.
In total I bought 250 rolls, but they aren’t all for me. 🙂
After that I went to a wonderful Christmas potluck at Bible study. It was a great time. A lot of food, friends and fellowship.
Finally to make a good day great. After school we arrived home and I was busy doing things and forgot to tell Nate to go and use the toilet. After a few minutes Nate went running to the bathroom. For the first time EVER (that I am aware of) he independently. It is so exciting. It is one huge step towards Nate being fully toilet trained. I am so proud of him. He is doing so well and trying so hard. I love my little man.
Shopping success.
So step one of teaching the boys to give went well. They dong really seem to understand but they were excited to pick out the toys. Nate loved it. He wanted to buy 1 of everything. Can was more selective. He wanted to check put his options and take his time with his decision. The next step will be actually giving the gifts away.
Christmas, Christmas time is here….
Today marks (for me) the beginning of the Christmas season. A time of over spending, over eating and over extending ourselves. BUT… it’s also a time of family, friends and love for complete strangers. Every Christmas I try to do things to make memories for the kids. This year I have decided to also try to teach the boys to help make memories for another child. Starting this year we are planning to have them buy a toy to donate to a child in need. It will be interesting to see how they feel about buying and giving away a toy.
Sing a story???
Tonight Cameron was in a goofy mood and decide to SING Nana a story.
It is a little hard to understand some of what he says so here is the story.
