We are going to be doing some renovations around the house but before we can we have a LOT of stuff that has been gathering that needs to be thrown out. So we decided to get one of those bins delivered and let someone else haul away our garbage for us. Nate had so much fun watching it get delivered.
Chew on this.
Woo Hoo. Today Aly cut her first tooth. At age 1year 6days. So that means she got them after Cameron age 9 months but A LOT earlier then Nate who didn’t get his until age 23 months. I am so excited and so sad to see her growing up. I want to hold on to my baby girl.
Aly’s Birthday Bash.
Yesterday was my baby girls first birthday. I don`t know where the years are dissapering to. Today we had a party to celbrate. It wasn`t a large party just some close family and some chosen family. But we had a good time (although threat of rain forced the festivities indoors). The food was themed `Baby Food`. We had baby (mini) burgers, baby (mini) hotdogs, baby greens salaad, baby potato salad and baby veggies. We also had a wonderful fruit salad cake and a lemon cocnut cake (shaped like a 1). Here are a few pictures from the party.
Near the end of the party I handed out little loot bags to the kids (except Aly). When I handed Cam his he said `wow we`re really lucky to be getting these at Aly`s birthday.`I love my little man so much, he is growing up to quickly, they all are.
Always in the limelight.
My kids (Aly included) LOVE to be the center of attention. It doesn’t matter where they are. A Habitate for Humanity ground breaking is no exception.
For the last few months the boys have been excitedly waiting for the new Habitat for Humanity houses to start being built near where we live. Well this Monday passed was the ground breaking ceremony. So I decided to take the kids and be apart of it. When we arrived at the event they were all set up with gold coloured shovels for all the big wigs. Well, after a few minutes of waiting for something to happen Nate decided to sneak away and get things started.

I wasn’t very happy that he was touching the showel but the media loved it. How do you punish a child when they are being swarmed by not, not two, but three reporters. Wanting to now his name to put his picture in the paper. To top it all off he wasn’t just in the paper, he was on the cover.
The governing state of Nate.
I saw this and had to share it. It just so well describes the way I think things run in Nate. Enjoy.
All the organs of the body were having a meeting,
Trying to decide who was the one in charge.
I should be in charge, said the brain, Because I run all the body’s systems, so without me nothing would happen.
I should be in charge, said the blood, Because I circulate oxygen all over so without me you’d all waste away.
I should be in charge, said the stomach, Because I process food and give all of you energy.
I should be in charge, said the legs, because I carry the body wherever it needs to go.
I should be in charge, said the eyes, Because I allow the body to see where it goes.
I should be in charge, said the rectum, Because I’m responsible for waste removal.
All the other body parts laughed at the rectum
And insulted him,So in a huff, he shut down tight.
Within a few days, the brain had a terrible headache
The stomach was bloated,
The legs got wobbly,The eyes got watery,
And the blood was toxic. They all decided that the rectum should be the boss
The Moral of the story? Even though the others do all the work
The @ss hole is usually in charge!
Two steps behind.
I can’t really explain this well. It’s more of a feeling. I feel like I am always trying to catch up. Like I can’t get caught up on anything. It is a very disheartening feeling but I just can’t seem to shake it. There are just so many things to be done and even if I find the time to do them then new things come up to fill in the gaps. It is a loosing battle.
The insanity that is me.
Lately I have been doing a lot of things that make no sense, even to me. Here are a few of the recent ones.
While making a pineapple daiquiri instead of pouring the vodka in the mixer I dumped it in to a dirty pot that was left on the stove from dinner. (I hadn’t drank anything yet.)
When making cake icing I doubled one ingredient in the recipe (this wasn’t the same night as above comment).
I was talking on my cell phone to someone while getting ready to go out. When I was almost ready to go I started looking for my phone. I got frustrated and huffed. I was asked by the friend what was wrong so I told her “I can’t find my pho…oh never mind.”
Another time I loaded up the van and started it. Then I went back in to the house to get my keys to lock the house. After about 5 minutes I realized they were in the van. So I went to the van and left forgetting to lock the house.
I swear I am loosing my mind.
One lucky boy.
A Cameron Story.
This morning Cameron didn’t want to pack his snacks for school. So he was told if he didn’t pack them then he would miss out. He held to his word and didn’t pack anything so all he had was a sandwich and a drink. When he was dropped off at school Daddy told the teacher about the snack “situation” as Cameron later called it. Cameron was very unhappy that Daddy had told the teacher. So come first snack the teachers assistant in the class knowingly sent Cam to have snack he looked at her and said “but I didn’t bring one”. “Well, that was bad planning” the teacher told him. Then lunch came and he ate his sandwich but was very sad when there was no more food. Then at afternoon snack there was a surprise. It was the birthday of one of the kids in his class and the boy had brought cupcakes for everyone. When Cameron was handed his cupcake he said to the teacher “Boy it’s my lucky day. I was hungry.” and very quickly devoured his cupcake.
Hopefully he has learned his lesson and will pack his snacks tomorrow.
